Isaias Knocks Out Power As It Moves Up The Coast - Tropical Storm Isaias [[ ee-sah-EE-ahss ]] is knocking out power to more than 600-thousand homes and businesses in four states.
Isaias made landfall in North Carolina as a Category 1 hurricane late last night. Hours later, the storm knocked out power to more than 370-thousand Duke Energy customers in North Carolina. Nearly a quarter-million homes and businesses in Virginia and parts of Maryland and Pennsylvania, including 236-thousand in Virginia, are also in an outage.
Meanwhile,Isaias has spawned a tornado southern Maryland and tornado warnings have been up this morning for the state. No one was injured in the twister. the mid-Atlantic coast up to New England will see more watches and warning as as the twister threat continues.
Flooding is expected along the storm’s path.
