After Foster Care Separated Them, Five Siblings Adopted Together

A family in Texas has adopted a group of five siblings who had been living separately in foster care. Parents Andi and Thomas Bonura have three biological children,Joey, 11,Sadie, 10, and Daphne, eight, but they always wanted to adopt more.

In 2017, they became licensed to be foster parents and brought baby Bryson, who is now two, home from the hospital when he was born. The family soon added his older siblings,David, now six, and Gabriella, now four, to their home and later, the older twin brothers Thomas and Carter, now eight, became their foster children, too. When their biological parents terminated their rights, the Bonuras were happy to take all five kids and have now officially adopted them, completing their family of 10.

“These are their brothers and sisters and there's no argument,” Andi says. “The kids have been through a lot but they're the sweetest. They're amazing -- and resilient.”
