Brides Across America is known for giving away wedding dresses to military women and first responders, but this year they’re switching things up a bit. The Massachusetts-based nonprofit has expanded the group it serves to include health care heroes working on the front lines to save the lives of COVID-19 patients.
The group’s flagship store is in Andover, but they also shop dresses out of state to other boutiques and events where local organizers can have a showing for brides that qualify.Heidi Janson founded Brides Across America in 2008 and she says they’re a small group with a big mission.
“We just wanted to do something to give back,” Janson says of the health care workers. “They’re putting their lives on the line, just like the military or a first responder, so this was our way to give back to them.”
