Italy Records Biggest Drug Bust Ever… No Thanks To High Tech Equipment- it looks like drug smugglers have figured out how to beat high tech detecting equipment.
Italian police are responsible for the largest drug bust in the world. Officials confirmed Wednesday they successfully confiscated a shipment of 84 million pills, more than 15 tons of amphetamines, worth more than a million dollars at the port of Salerno in southern Italy.
The thing is? The well-hidden drugs were not detected by scanners at the port but intercepted phone calls tipped police off to their arrival.
They say they believe the drugs to be made by ISIS in Syria as the pills were printed with the Jihadi "Captagon" logo. It’s believed that’s how ISIS fundraises.
