It's looking more and more likely that the members of Motley Crue are about to tear up their “cessation of touring agreement” and hit the road five years after their "final" tour.
Rolling Stone cites industry sources as confirming a stadium tour withDef LeppardandPoisonfor next summer. This comes after a few weeks of rumors, including a report denied byVince Neilthat he andTommy Leewere feuding about getting sober and in shape for the tour. Over the weekend, the official Crue Twitter account shared a fan petition calling for the band to reunite and added, “This is interesting…” (That tweet was later deleted.)
This year in various interviews, Nikki Sixxhas said that he didn't expect the Crue to do any shows even as he admitted to having thoughts that they might have quit too soon. He also suggested they might just get together to play at Mick Mars's house. Interest in a Crue reunion grew this year off the success ofThe Dirtmovie and soundtrack, which featured four new tracks from the band.
