Sawyer Hendrickson is only 10 years old, but that doesn’t stop her from following her passion to support military and veterans. The little girl from Ludington, Michigan got involved with it when her older brother joined the Marines four years ago and she sent him a care package in a stocking when he was away for Christmas.
His gift was a hit and the family started sending more care packages in stockings to his friends, and friends of friends and eventually they started the nonprofit Miss Sawyer's Kids With A Cause.The organization has sent more than 25,000 stockings filled with cookies, peanut butter brownies, snack mix, and chapstick to military bases all over the world. And this year, Sawyer has a goal of sending 10,000 Sawyer’s Stockings to military personnel who won’t be home for the holidays.
