Some fun news from some classic rockers and a tennis player?

Longtime Pretenders principal Chrissie Hynde is eyeing her next solo studio album and has offered fans a glimpse into how the future record got off the ground by setting up a new website on which she tells a brief backstory. As she explains, she met collaborator Bjorn Yttling of the Swedish indie pop band Peter Bjorn and John in a coffee bar in Cleveland “and we sort of met and greed to try to do something.” In an earlier interview with UK’s Q magazine, Hynde said tennis ace “John McEnroe is playing guitar on one song and Neil Young is playing on it too.”

With a best-selling memoir (Life) already on his resume, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has turned his attention towards releasing a children’s picture book, with the pictures provided by his daughter Theodora Richards. As the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer explains, Gus & Me: The Story of My Grandad and My First Guitar (available September 9) was inspired by a real-life story about his relationship with his own grandfather Theodore Augustus Dupree, whom Theodora is named after. Richards added, “I have just become a grandfather for the fifth time, so I know what I’m talking about. May I be as great a grandfather as Gus was to me.”
