Springsteen says he will tour with E Street Band in 2020

Hey, Springsteen fans, here’s some good news and bad news.

The bad news: It does not appear as though The Boss will tour on his new singer-songwriter album, “Western Stars,”which drops June 14.

The good news: Springsteen said will be back on the road next year with the full E Street Band in tow.

“We will go on tour next year. I’ll record with the E Street Band in the autumn and when we are done, we’ll go on tour.”

There you have it: not only is a 2020 tour upcoming, but new recordings from the band in full force are on the way as well. Springsteen mentioned at a Netflix event with director Martin Scorsese earlier this month that he’d written nearly a full album’s worth of material for the band.

Does this mean multiple dates at MetLife Stadium next summer, akin to the band’s record-breaking 2016 “The River” anniversary tour, which hit the Meadowlands three times? Time will tell where the tour lands, but let’s be real — something like that seems more likely than not, considering the four-year gap between proper shows.

Springsteen also revealed that a new documentary surrounding the recording of “Western Stars” is also coming soon (no release date yet announced). The doc reportedly includes scenes from Springsteen’s home recording studio in Colts Neck.
